Southern PinesBefore You Serve
Before You Serve
“Is there anything in my heart that could distract me from Your presence?”
Presence Driven People
“If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here.”Exodus 33:15
Grace Church Production supports every ministry at Grace Church through video, audio and lighting. We steward these tools to equip the saints for ministry (Ephesians 4:12). Clear visuals display Scripture and share the teacher’s heart. Audio carries worship and unites voices in praise. Lighting sets an atmosphere that draws hearts past the stage to God alone.
Our service has to be led by God’s presence. Reflect Christ in your work, and your humble service helps others meet God without distraction.
Our Heart for You
“The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”Deuteronomy 6:4–5
Our gatherings are wholly dedicated to God and His presence, not us. Whether it’s Young Adults, gKids, GStudents, Re|Engage or a group of moms going through life together, we want to approach each moment with reverence, knowing God’s presence is holy and transformative.
Before each service we ask one question, inspired by the Asbury revival team: “Is there anything in your heart that could distract you from God’s presence?” It helps us set aside personal struggles and overload and refocus on Him.
We also hold on to Exodus 33:14: “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” His presence is our peace and strength. We steward that grace by cutting unnecessary busyness and keeping our focus on worship and ministry.
“Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God … Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t cover up bad work.”Colossians 3:22–25 MSG
Five Ways to Prepare
- Pause and pray
Take 1–2 minutes before each service to pray silently. Ask God to reveal and remove distractions, and surrender any burdens to Him.
- Seek God’s guidance
Invite the Holy Spirit to direct you at the soundboard, the lighting board or ProPresenter. Every audio level, lighting cue and transition points the room to Christ.
- Trust in God’s rest
Release stress and performance pressure (Exodus 33:14). His presence sustains you, so you can serve with joy and peace, even in demanding moments.
- Pursue excellence
Serve with diligence: clean audio, clear visuals, smooth transitions. Excellence equips the saints without drawing attention to you.
- Foster team unity
Communicate clearly, offer help and pray together. A unified team reflects God’s presence.
Settle your heart, review your role and pray with the team.
Treat the SQ-6, HyperDeck and projectors with care and follow your training.
Share insights or problems with Production staff so we can keep improving.
Personal devotion and small group study grow your sensitivity to God’s presence.
“Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.”
Ephesians 6:18
